Francesca Mereu(1977, Cagliari, Italy) is an architect, artist and digital art researcher. PhD in Art, Production and Research, she is the creator of M-Artech Platform (Women in art and technology), coordinating VLAB 4D, an advanced visualization experimental group at Medialab-Prado, focused on projects that links art and technology: Holograms, 3-D spaces, inmersive reality. She has been coordinator and art director of Espacio Menosuno, an independent cultural association where she programmed exhibitions and activities during 2011. She is member of MAV, (mujeres en las artes visuales), the Spanish association of Women in Visual Arts.

VLAB 4D was formed in the Medialab-Prado in the context of Fridays OpenLab. The starting point was the investigation of the new 3D visualization forms of art installations and contents noncommercial, learning and experiencing different ways of visualization tools and 3D devices. In a second present intention is to apply the science in developing experimental art, experimental video and audiovisual effects.
